"This is why I stuck with Ancient Runes." She scrunched up her face. "It's precise and uniform, you get what you expect and only that. There isn't much debate over morals and alignments."

"I could read deeper if you like," he said with a shrug. "Once you include magic it becomes more specific. You could predict what a person might do in different situations, how they might respond to different things."

"I suppose that makes sense." The book on her lap lay forgotten in their discussion. "How much more can your read about me now just from your numbers?"

Ah, look. She's here, a bundle of joy. Actually, she looks like she hasn't slept, alternating between mouthfuls of toast and wide yawns. She's not yawning while chewing. That would be disgusting. Instead, she's simply sat in an arm chair, trying to keep her eyes open as she flick through what are probably lessons plans for the next week. What a bother... Most of it's just theory. She way prefers practical application, but she ought to make it good for the students, anyway. Her free hand raises to her cheek, rubbing it a little to get rid of a little dirt, that only smudges over her face further. Majestic.

"Well," he began, a little flustered by the question. "Your heart number and your social number are both 1, usually indicating a solitary and independent lifestyle. It also typically means that you're motivated by your work. Most people with ones in these categories find that their character number is also one, which makes them more inclined to a reclusive lifestyle, but your character number is 2. To me this suggests that you're creative and usually cooperative. Sweet natured, too."

She positively beamed, clapping her hands together at one side. "It's like reading my own personalised horoscope section in the Daily Prophet only seemingly more accurate and less vague." Her smile widened. "And it's awfully sweet of you to interpret your numbers in that way. Is that what you really think?"

"It's what the numbers say," he shrugged. "They're usually fairly accurate at this level of reading. The more complex the reading, the less likely it is to be precise, so I know that I have a pretty good measure of your personality so far."

"Sounds like a lot of hard work and effort," she nodded slowly, impressed. "Do you think you can predict how many of my students are going to forget their homework next lesson? Then I get more time to think of how to deal with them, third years are prone to making up excuses since they're only just getting used to the increased number of lessons."

Bennett snorted. "You might need the Divination professor for that. My talents don't stretch quite far, although I'm willing to bet it'll stand at around fifteen."

She pulled a face, groaning. "So you have the same issue too? Honestly, I'm going to have to start handing out detentions like Halloween sweets."

He chuckled, glancing across at the work he was marking. "It's to be expected. They'll get over it at some point, once they realise it's kind of important to work if they want to do well for themselves."

There's some kind of noise from her corner of the room, that begins with a plosive and ends with a choking sound. Attractive. It's actually her just waking up, after having nodded off sat down. It's not like she can help it, being sat in a warm room, in a padded and comfortable armchair, and with absolutely nothing to do. She hardly sets homework. She should really start, but the marking is too much effort, and no one likes homework. Besides, it's hard to set any, when the majority of your lessons are practical. It's only an essay every so often, about the uses of Ashwinder eggs, and the stories and histories behind Basilisks. reading about that kind of thing is fine, but checking over it is the worst. But she doesn't have anything to mark right now, nor does she have any lessons that need planning currently, so she's simply sat there, staring into the fire and waiting for time to tick onwards until her next lesson.

She hummed in thought, returning to her book with a faint smile on her lips. "Well, I'm always happy to give anyone struggling a little help, anything to spend more time discussing Ancient Runes with those who pay attention to the ramblings of someone who only just became a professor." A pause. "Maybe there are a couple of respect issues hanging around as well..." Alysia added as an afterthought with a small shrug.
