Alain's eyes widened as he studied the village. He'd only ever seen it from far away. There were interesting things and animals and people milling everywhere. Interesting smells and sounds.

Alain stumbled behind her, dumbfounded by everything. He'd never smelled freshly baking bread. He'd never seen stray dogs or cats. He'd never witnessed children playing games by a well. This village seemed to be like any other one in all of Camelot, yet the sight was completely alien to him.

Eliza laughed. "Come on, try to keep up please. Or else you'll end up getting lost and I'll have to go find you." She put a hand on his back to guide him, pushing him slightly through the bustle of the town. She couldn't help but notice how Alain was like a small child in this environment. Or a puppy. Either way, it was kind of cute.

Alain tried to keep his eyes facing forward, be he couldn't resist glancing around every few seconds. He was out of the castle. He was out of the castle. For the first time in his life. Free. Outside.
