She grinned back. "It's been a while since Venus and I have had anyone else to talk to or trade tips with." Aforementioned glorious Venus disappeared for a few moments, reappearing quickly holding the nibbled-upon and very slightly decayed body of a dead rat. |

Giovanni stared at the carcass, mildly revolted. He averted his eyes quickly. "Interesting meal you've got there, Venus."

She really didn't know why Ricardo had wanted to go on a road trip-- with camping-- to celebrate his eighteenth, let alone why she had to come along. Vincent took a minute to go to the flower boxes in front of the shop and pick a few black-eyed susans and daisies, returning to cut them. "I have to finish this by tomorrow... I feel like these are a little informal, but they go well with the others." Vincent was mostly talking to himself, but having Marco there at least made it seem like he was talking to his coworker.

Maybe the forest will have edible plants," Thea said. Venus ate what was left of the delicious, delicious rat and trotted forward. The looming abandoned buildings they passed became rather less looming the farther they traveled through the town, and thus far no one had crossed paths with the group, unless you were counting the rat. |

Some parts of the town still reeked of decay, with bone shards and scraps of clothing lying scattered in the dirt, Thea recalled. She and Venus had happened upon one such place in the early days of the monsters' invasion. "The majority of the population is too scared to leave the shelters they've built. There used to be a huge one in the grocery store." She looked around warily. "It's also possible there are a few more strategic individuals out there watching us, waiting to see if they can follow our lead if we don't happen to be killed. Probably not, though. Probably." |

Vincent gave him a lopsided smile. "Thanks, I think. I still don't get to do too many of the orders. My dad mostly just makes me clean, of course. It's better than being without a job though, even if I do earn below minimum wage with me being his son and all..."
