Ricardo was working on a customer's back, checking back and forth with Judas's sketches. The buzz of the tattoo needle could be just barely heard outside of the shop. Marco followed Vincent's gaze, mouth quirking up in a smile. "He's not bad-looking, you know."

"See you," Giovanni mumbled, sitting down on the floor by some scrap wood. Locating a sizable piece, he held it at his side, eyes darting nervously. -- "I wouldn't turn down a classic, but they say that dandelions instead of baby's breath in arrangements are all the rage nowadays. But what did you think of the guy, anyway?" In a little less than a half hour, she came running back. "We have to leave, now. There's some sort of… migration going on. I saw it from the roof of the flower shop two blocks down." She took a breath. "They're headed straight for us, and I don't think this shop can protect us."

"What are you suggesting?" Vincent asked suspiciously, eyes darting back to the table.

"Nothing you don't, at least on some level, want me to be suggesting."

Giovanni stood, eyes wide. "What direction do we leave in? Which way do we go?"

Thea began to gather what supplies there were lying around the coffee shop, which was not much. "They're coming from the south. Our best chance is finding some place out of their reach and waiting it out. They might ignore us if this is really a migration. The way they were walking, they should be here in around 24 hours." She stared downward for a moment. If they did hide, she was not hopeful of their chances. With little more than a couple of blankets and some dried-up herb dust, they'd all likely die of thirst if the monsters didn't attack. Ever since she'd begun coming to the coffee shop, Thea had felt her magical abilities begin to weaken slightly, as though they were meant for another world- she doubted she could conjure anything useful for their stay. "You've traveled alone for quite some time, Giovanni. Do you think we'd be able to make it if we ran?"

Vincent shot a glare at Marco, but didn't argue. "What business of yours is it?" he asked instead, toying with a leaf that had been broken off when he was cutting stems.

"If we ran now, probably. But we can't be standing around waiting. We could probably loose them in the woods rather than a residential area, too." Giovanni picked up a large piece of broken wood. "We need to avoid other people at all costs. Groups of three are kind of a risk-- groups of four are suicide." -- Marco shrugged. "It isn't my business. But as one of the only three people you actually talk to, I'd like to keep you from messing this up."

Thea nodded. "I know a few places we can walk through to avoid meeting up with anyone else. A lot of the people left here are hiding right now anyway, I wasn't the only one to see the monsters." She tried not to feel too guilty about leaving the rest of the town's inhabitants behind. If too many came with we'd all die anyway, she reasoned. "Should we head out… now?"

"Yeah. Right now." Giovanni stepped towards the door carefully. He'd only known this woman for an hour and now they seemed to have formed some sort of tentatie partnership-- not that he was complaining.

"C'mon, Venus," she called. The cat was quick to follow. Thea's brow wrinkled as she realized that she and Venus had spoken much less since they'd started going to the shop, too, right around the time her magic had weakened. Maybe leaving would change things. They were taking charge of their own destinies now, the three of them- a young witch, her cat, and this strange little-brother type fellow they'd run into. "We need to head down the street to the west, there are much fewer people there."

"I'll make sure that we're not being tailed from behind or the sides. I've gotten pretty good at that."

She nodded. "Venus and I can keep an eye out as well. Thank you for your help."

"I normally wouldn't ask you for help, but talking to other people isn't exactly something I know how to do very well, so if he ever comes back, you might have to show me how to not make a fool of myself."

"It's the least I can do for letting me tag along," Giovanni replied, smiling. "Thank you." -- Marco sniffled, pretending to wipe away a tear. "My little boy's growing up. I can't believe it."

"Shut up, Marco!" he yelled defensively, standing. "I'm not a kid! Why do you have to tease me all the time?"

"Who says I'm even interested in him? I barely know him..." Vincent sighed. Still, Marco had a point. If his father got even the slightest idea that he another guy were going to get romantically involved, he was off to therapy.

"Well, you keep staring longingly out the window, so I'd say you're at least a little interested." Marco sat on the counter, legs swinging. "Listen, half the battle will be keeping this from your dad. Don't worry about that, I'll take care of it."

Vincent stuck his tongue out at Marco, but sighed. "Thanks. We'll see what happens..."
