"I've certainly been dreaming about it for a while," Ricardo mumbled, going in for another kiss. It amazed him how soft Vincent's lips were, considering how often he noticed the Gryffindor biting down on them.

Vincent's heart rate soared again and he reached up to tangle his fingers in Ricardo's hair. The Gryffindor needed to shave. Vincent could feel the stubble brush against his lips, but at this point, he couldn't bother to care.

Xander hummed in thought, rolling his head to the side. "Healing, huh? That's respectable. My parents used to try and push me down that route, it never worked though and they've since given up, probably 'cause my brother's been doing so well so it doesn't matter if I screw up." He pulled down a second book on Ancient Runes but refrained from opening it. "You know, you could always takes things to the extremes and slice open your bag so you can pretend it fell out." She gave him a skeptical look at the second part. Something told her that slitting her bag was a little too far, even by her standards. Instead of responding, she felt it was necessary to shift the focus of their conversation back into him. "What does your brother do? Something tells me it's not Quidditch." |

Ricardo let his hands rest just above Vincent's hips, feeling a pleasant thrill in the pit of his stomach. He had spent a rather embarrassing amount of time imagining a moment like this, getting to kiss the boy he had been pining after for months, and it was even better than he dared to hope.

"Ah, you got it, Thomas was never that into Quidditch to be honest. He landed a job in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the Ministry and he's climbing pretty high up for someone his age." Xander shrugged, flipping open the book in his arms. It wasn't often that he spoke of his family but he wasn't completely against it, it's just that no one ever asked much. "Mum and Dad are dead proud as you'd expect."

"Ah," Rita nodded. "That must be pretty tough for you. I'm an only child, so there are no expectations or anything. But my parents still want me to do well, obviously. And they both did fairly well for themselves." They had split up when she was young - it was something she didn't really like to talk about, but she still saw her dad every now and then, and he still sent her presents twice a year. For a dysfunctional family, they coped surprisingly well.

"Huh?" He glanced up from the book, frowning. "Not really, they don't care so I'm free to do jack all with my time which is pretty sweet because they don't yell at me for flying anymore. So do you suffer from pressure or what? It must be pretty boring to be an only child."

"I guess there's the pressure of needing to impress them because nobody else will do it," she shrugged. "And there's pressure to have children to 'continue the family name', which sucks. But they want the best for me." She considered his question for a few moments. "It's lonely on holidays to not have a sibling. But I'm pretty good at talking to other people, so as long as there are people there my age, I can get along fine."

"I never understood the appeal of flying," she said, screwing up her face. "I enjoy watching it, but I've never been a fan of heights myself. I'd sooner be inside, where it's not so cold." Her ex boyfriend had dragged her to a great number of matches, so she generally associated the sport with him anyway. It wasn't a good link to have made, if she was honest; their breakup hadn't exactly been pretty.
