Lilli looked up to a girl she had Nadeem briefly once or twice. A Hufflepuff. "Guten Tag," she responded quietly.

Amelia nodded to the girl, who she had now figured out was a Ravenclaw. She pulled a book from the shelf and pulled out a chair and sat down across from Lilli and began to skim through her book.

Lilli looked up from her book, surprised. Nobody had ever really sat with her by choice, nobody her age at least. It was then that she fully processed the fact that her social circle was entirely composed of her brother's friends and a yellow bird. Maybe I can be friends with this girl. But... She probably already has a lot of them...

Amelia glanced up to see Lilli looking at her. She bit her lip then quickly looked back down to her book without another word.

Oh no, now I seem creepy! Lilli felt herself flush as she forced her gaze back to her book. Something about making a bad impression to this girl bothered her.

"It's fine," she said with a nervous laugh. Gillbird hopped up onto her shoulder, nibbling at the hair bow tied into her short blonde bob.

She hesitated a moment. "I'm Amelia, by the way," she said softly.

Robyn glanced up from her reading a few bookshelves away before quickly shifting her gaze back to her book, as long as they didn't disturb her, whoever else was in the library really didn't concern her. With a huff, she dipped her quill into the inkwell and began scratching along her sheet of parchment in her cursive script.

"Nice to meet you too, Amelia." Gillbird chirped loudly, almost indignant at not being introduced. "Oh, and this is Gilbird."

Thump, thump, thump. Heavy, quickly paced footsteps sound just outside the library, as shoe soles hit the hard stone of the hallway. And then there's a sharp cry, followed by a thud, along with a hurried and fairly loud apology, before the ridiculously tall boy steps around the doorway of library and strides in. ... Wonder why he looks so cheery. Then again, he always does, the smile on his face practically illuminating the entirety of his features. A bag is slung on a table, some supplies hurriedly pulled out and piled up, before he turns, pulling several books from the shelves, to stack in his arms, before walking back over to his bag and dropping them onto the wooden surface. Such a sound would likely elicit a warning to be quiet, from anyone nearby, and then a soft, hushed apology from him, before he takes his seat, removes his cloak and starts poring over a page to which he opened the first book.

Her quill skidded to a halt across the page as she glanced up yet again, a look of irritation flashing in her eyes. The teen that had strode in just moments before was somewhat familiar to her, of course he was. He stuck out like a sore thumb and was in no way easy to miss despite trying her hardest to ignore him. Robyn simply sent a glare his way before turning back to her work, a scowl marring her features after being disrupted for the second time that day.

... It seems this is pretty hard, or at least, it is for him, so with an excruciatingly loud sigh and a soft groaning noise, his quill is set back on the table, and a hand run through his unruly locks, to tousle and mess up each strand further. the eyes now desperate to focus on anything but the work roam over everything, and- Oh. It seems, that he's angered one of the residents. Or at least, disturbed them. Whoops. He ought to fix that. Hard-working Kaleb may be, but a distraction from something difficult is always welcome. So, up he goes again, long legs carrying him quickly over to whichever table Robyn sits at, and folding themselves, one over the other as he sits directly next to her.

Robyn almost stopped. Almost. She felt his presence instantly but instead of turning to him and growling a curt 'go away', she continued to scrawl down her sheet more furiously then ever, pausing only to redip her quill in ink before starting again. She had homework to finish and judging by the state of his own desk, so did he. At the point where she reached the end of the roll of parchment, it was clear that he wasn't going to go away any time soon and no amount of ignoring him would do any good. He seemed adamant about pestering her. "What do you want?" She grumbled eventually, setting down the quill on the desk.

By the time she's turned around, one of his elbows is already resting on the table, chin propped up in the palm of his hand. And of course, that almost idiotic grin is stretched over his face, bright and friendly, not that it'd likely have much of an impact on the rather irritable seeming girl. And indeed, ignoring him would do no good. Headstrong and stubborn, possibly, but determined is a definite yes, on the personality checklist. Oh, she spoke first. 'Nothin'. Well, mostly to say sorry. 'Cause I annoyed you, right? But also to ask for help. You see, I'm not the smartest, and the stuff I'm doing is hard. I guess, you look a little younger than I am, but it's fine, 'cause, you also look pretty smart!' Is the meaning of whatever he's saying even discernible? Possibly.

She said the first word and regretted it almost instantly. It wasn't like she wanted to talk to him in the first place but the way he sat there with a somewhat freaky and overly happy grin plastered across his features was... Distracting. In her mind, Robyn had decided that it was best to deal with the current annoyance at hand and then she could turn back to her work in blissful silence. She blinked in confusion for several moments after he responded, spending a several seconds or so deciphering his words. "Oh, was that it?" She pursed her lips. "Don't you have friends in your own house and year that can help you with this?"

The grin only broadens, just a little, as she keeps talking to him, despite her obviously not wanting to. His eyes flick briefly over to the work she's been dutifully going over, taking it all in after a single glance. Ah, man, she really does look like she's working hard. And pretty smart too. Or, maybe he just forgot most of the things he did last year, so it all looks new and intelligent to him. ... How did he actually pass his OWLs again? Who knows. Regardless, there's a flicker of thought through Kaleb's mind that pretty much tells him he made the right choice here. 'Pretty much!' As he talks, his long limbs stretch out, legs extending beneath the table and arms reaching above his head. '... Not really. I mean, I do have friends and stuff, but they're not really here right now. And, they're all probably busy on their own work, or somethin' like that.'

She glowered at him as his own smiled widened. Was he really that oblivious towards how much she just wanted him to leave her in peace or did he enjoy pestering people who wanted to be on their own? She was more inclined to think it was the latter and that infuriated her to no end. Robyn noticed him glancing over her notes and from the expression on his face, she half wondered whether he even bothered to show up at his lessons last year and maybe it was just some miracle that he was still in school now. She narrowed her eyes slightly, blanking out his first few words of response as he gets into a position that looks far too comfortable for someone who should be leaving soon. "I'm busy too." She added, picking up her quill again as if to make her own point. "Besides, I'm not obligated to help you in any way. House rivalries, remember?"
