The first snow of the season had come awfully early this year. Lemmingfur bounded down towards the Caribou Basin, eager to show her apprentice the migration, which took place shortly after that first falling of snow.

Owlpaw carefully made his way down to the Basin, stepping in the footprints that Lemmingfur had left. He glanced up to look for his mentor but tripped over his own paws, landing face-first in the powdery snow.

"I wanted to show you the basin. This is what it'll be like for most of the winter, but the snow will get awfully deep. We get lots of lemmings and hares in here, once the caribou pass through," she mewed.
