Carnelian gritted their teeth, raising the axe. A quick thought tan through their head, one that trilled them and shamed them at the same time. Andesine. Or Red Agate. We could... no, not after fusion just went so badly!

Coral had managed to stand and retrieve her khopesh from her gem. Though her legs were shaky, she stood defensively with her weapon raised. If she had to fight Lepidolite, she would. Glancing at Carnelian, she sighed. If the battle got too intense, so would they. And Coral knew how that could end. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case. Ordinarily, she would've suggested a fusion, but after the whole Sunstone commotion, she wasn't sure what might happen.

Morganite drew her crossbow and nocked an arrow, rising to her feet and drilling her eyes into Lepidolite. She figured it would be better not to talk after the whole ordeal with Sunstone, but she hoped her glare said what she was thinking. I want you out.

Lepidolite narrowed their eyes, before letting go of their weapon and dropping it, the bow disappearing. "Now isn't the time for this. Tanzy? It's time for something else, though. For Fluorite." Tanzanite still stood frozen, looking terrified.

Tanzanite closed her eyes for a moment before speaking. "Fine. Give me a second, though." She quickly went over to Coral, whispering to her. "There's this spring. In a cave. About ten minutes from here. I used it to fix Lepidolite's stone. Remember. Just in case." When she had finished, she went back over to Lepidolite, who took Tanzanite's hand and led her a little further away where they could fuse.

Coral stared after her, eyes wide, but she nodded. "I will..." Dread filled her stomach as she watched Tanzanite being led away. She had a feeling they would have to fight Flourite, and therefore have to fight Tanzanite. It was the last thing she wanted to do, but if it was to only way to defeat Lepidolite...

"I know. I do," Coral mumbled, looking over at the orange gem. Is she suggesting we fuse? Coral was reluctant, especially since she and Carnelian had never fused before. She had no idea what their fusion would be like. But she remembered what Sunstone had said about her being too weak and scared to solve any problems. Maybe they had been right... "D-do we fuse, then?"

"You're right... Hopefully. Let's do this, then." Coral dropped her weapon, offering a hand to Carnelian. For some reason, she couldn't shake this nervousness she felt, this self-consciousness. Maybe it was fear that this wouldn't go as well as they hoped, but Coral couldn't be sure.

Lepidolite and Tanzanite faced each other, still holding hands. "One thing," Tanzanite said in a low voice. "We don't fight them. We go and get whatever the hell you need, we unfuse, and this is done. You go back home or wherever you want to go." Lepdolite rolled their eyes. "Yeah, sure. Not worth it anyway. Let's go, come on."
Lepidolite twirled Tanzanite around, both of their gems beginning to glow. They danced as if they had done it a million times before, like they were one. Finally, they began to turn to light, starting to fuse.

Carnelian took the hand, spinning themselves into Coral's arm. Already they could begin to feel her insecurity, hesitation. A fresh wave of guilt slapped them across the face.

Coral took a deep breath as she Carnelian with her other arm, wrapping it around them for a moment and then sending them spinning away. I need to relax. If I'm stressed out when we fuse, it'll have a higher chance of falling apart. Her hand slipped from Carnelian's and she hesitated before stepping back into the dance. Finally feeling a bit calmer, she put a hand on Carnelian's waist and took their hand in the other, leading in a lively and fast-paced waltz.

Carnelian frowned, dancing along. Coral obviously felt stressed at the moment. Their already-glowing gem was starting to pick up on the emotional and mental signals of the other. She normally didn't lead... but perhaps, this time, that was exactly what the Earth gem needed to get their nerve back.

Morganite stepped back, biting her lip and drawing her crossbow once more as she watched them dance. Let's hope this works- and also that I don't get squashed by two giant fusions.
