Steven Universe: The Roleplay

"Force of habit. I'm so weak, when it comes to them... when you did it for a good chunk of your life, it sticks with you sometimes." Tanzanite attempted a laugh, looking down and leaning on her sword.

Sunstone twitched, watching Coral sink. She kept her weapon to her side, a dignified look in her eyes, although the gem in her neck had begun to take on pink streaks. "So, are you going to come clean or am I going monster hunting?"

Coral looked up at Tanzanite, not necessarily surprised. "I should've known... They seemed so suspicious when they first arrived, and ever since then too. We need to send them away."

"Fine. We have a long history though." Tanzanite continued to learn on her sword, before finally starting her story. "I didn't lie when I said I can't remember how we met. But I do remember... other things. I was at my happiest when I was with Lepidolite. Whatever we were doing, I was happy. I probably let whatever feelings, whatever type of feelings, cloud my judgement in the end. Something happened. I can't tell you what, I don't know. They started doing some not so great things. And that's when it started for me, all the lies. To protect them. It happened for a long time. I started to get doubtful of why I still hung around them, but then we started fusing. And I forgot about whatever type of worries I had about them. Well, maybe not comepletely. It was complicated. And then, one day, they left. To search for some sort of bizarre weapon, I think. Or maybe a treasure. Down to earth. I didn't see them for a long time until I eventually came down. Found them in a kindergarten, retreated into their gem. And I kept it. Still thinking whatever we had, we could have again. I felt mildly guilty of course after I while, because I felt like I had begun to move on, with others- which was you guys. But I ignored it. Eventually, they came back. You know the rest."

"Sunstone, stop!" Coral shouted, standing in front of Tanzanite. Tears still stained her cheeks, but she tried putting on a brave face. "Tanzanite is not going to leave and you are not smashing her or Lepidolite's gem. I told you Sunstone is a dangerous fusion but you didn't listen, did you?"

"I am not Carnelian or Morganite, or just simply a mix of both," Sunstone snapped, raising their flail over the gem. "I'm Sunstone, I'm better than that, and you can't--"

Sunstone twitched, pulling the flail to her side and holding it there firmly. "I'm not stupid. I'm not going to kill you or your stupid friend, but there needs to be an intervention. This is my house, and I want them out! They're not welcome here anymore, with or without a body."

Sunstone flinched, muttering something to herself. They bounced the flail a little bit, and then pulled it back to their side. "I won't-" They blinked, attempting to keep their intense demeanor, although their gems were noticeably beginning to change hue.

"Tanzanite, no! No, please don't leave," Coral pleaded, on the verge of tears again. "Don't go because of something an unstable and dangerous fusion says. You're a valued member of the team, Tanzanite," she said, taking the purple-ish gem's hand.
