Coral narrowed her eyes as she watched the two. Something was up. They were planning something. Even without being able to make out what they were saying to each other, Coral had been around Morganite enough to know that mischievous tone of voice being carried by the wind.

Morganite grinned giddily. "Where do you think They'll want to look? They'll have to try to avoid Coral. We really don't want to get her 'I'm not mad, just disappointed' speech."

Morganite grinned, lacing her hand with Carnelian's. "Of course!"
(OKAY SO FOR THE DANCE: Maybe some kind of modernized Paso Doble? I feel like that could work because it's classic, but it would also have some punk type vibes if presented the right way!)

Carnelian began to spin Morganite, dipping the pink gem into one of those swinging moves that she loved so much. Their own gem was already starting to glow with the dancing, hints of light showing deep inside the Orange.

Morganite fell into the dip, tapping in time to an imaginary beat, though it seemed to be pulsing through the air. Her gem was beginning to develop hues of bright orange, already starting to take on the form of Sunstone.

Carnelian slowly picked Morganite up so that their foreheads touched, just as their body began to turn to nothing but blinding white light.

Coral watched the two, wanting to yell in frustration. They know Sunstone isn't very stable! Why're they even fusing in the first place? There's no real reason. She eventually hopped down from her rock, storming towards the fusing gems.

There was a bright flash of light, and the glowing form solidified. Sunstone lowered to the ground and lilting with confidence as they stretched deeply to the side. "Woohoo! It's great to be back!" They opened their eyes, fluttering their eyelashes at the vibrantly colored figure approaching from down the beach. "Coral! You're just in time for the reunion concert!"

Tanzanite had stepped outside to have a look at what was going on. When she saw Sunstone, she stared for a minute, before nervously stepping even further away than she already was.

Sunstone shorted, flicking back their bright, undercut hair. "Come on, Coral. I'm great. Better than great. You just always seem to forget how much of a help I happen to be. It's like..." The tall gem crouched so that they were just above eye level with Coral, a wide and definitely-not-kind grin on their face. All three glittering eyes were squared on the smaller gem. "You're just jealous that you're not part of me."

Coral put her hands on her hips, staring Sunstone down with a gaze that could kill. She chose to ignore the fusion's comment on being jealous. "You never answered my question. Why did you two fuse. You know it's not something that should be done for no reason."

"I would rather take measures to prevent another attack, not go hunt for the trouble and put myself and all the rest of us in danger by doing so," she hissed. "You have no common sense. No self control..." Coral felt the tears rolling down her cheeks before she even had a chance to blink them back. She turned her head, wiping them away angrily.

Tanzanite saw Coral wipe away tears, and that made her angry. Sunstone had always been an unstable fusion. This was getting ridiculous. Summoning her weapon, she jogged over to where the other gems were speaking, although kept her sword down in a non-aggressive position, finally stopping when she was next to Coral.

"And besides, I'd rather have no common sense than no strength or emotional resolve to actually try and solve a problem," Sunstone continued, patting the smaller gem on the head. Their voice was calm, airy, casual, but the words were punctuated by an air of stinging condescension. "You really don't ever change, do ya? So sensitive, honestly. Look, just relax, kiddo. I'm going to do us all a favor, find whatever hurt Tanzy here, put it down, and move on. Instead of just sitting on rocks and sulking about how unfair everything is. You can go back to that, by the way, I've got this covered."
