"Show me how to wash armor?" he echoed. "It sounds like you're just trying to get me to work for free but it beats organizing bottles in this boring dump."

"I said show, not make you do it all. It can be pretty hard." She paused. "Would that be all right?"

"Well of course! I'd do anything if it meant getting out of this place even for a few minutes. With luck, Mrs. Smith will be asleep. And it's not like we'll have any costumers."

Russell flashed her a smile, a genuine one this time. "Have a nice day Miss Corinne."

Russell sighed in a happy sort of way, glancing at her through the window as she left. He went back to organizing the various herbs, his mind wandering.

Maude, walking along the dirt road, waved to the messenger. "Good day, Margaret!"
Later on, Corinne returned, wheeling with her a cart covered with a long cloth. "Back," she panted, stopping outside the apothecary.

"Corinne!" Russell looked up excitedly, making sure his teacher was still asleep before slipping out into the street.

"Hey! Made it back, finally." She gestured to the cart. "I've got a set of armor and some supplies for cleaning in there."

"Sorry. I got held up a bit, I had to do some cleaning and a few rounds before I was able to go. Now, let's start getting this stuff battle-worthy."

"True." Russell took one last look at the apothecary shop. "Well then...lead the way."

"I'm working on a few things, blankets and scarves. Have you got any interesting letters to give out? To the monarchs or the lords?" she asked cheerfully.
