Hiranya took her brother's hand, leading him through the forest. He had asked her what an Avatar really was. "The Avatar..." she swallowed, wondering who was listening. "The Avatar is a special type of bender. He or she can master all four elements."
"So I can do that?" he asked loudly, grinning.

Jian paused, straining his ears. Were there more people in the forest? Great. Maybe he could ask them how to get out instead of wandering around in circles.

Kari glanced over the map, frowning and rotating it a few times until she found the right spot. "There," she said, indicating a more dense patch of trees besides a river. "If you head in that direction you'll come across the river, and you can follow it to get to the village."

Kari shuffled her feet awkwardly. Her mother would definitely not be pleased if she brought home an airbender, let alone his bison. But then she had taken a trip to the village for supplies, and usually she stayed the night. "Well, my house isn't too far away. You could stay there for the night of you wanted. But you have to leave by tomorrow morning."
