"Yeah..." Lilli trailed off, shifting in her seat. Oh, what do I do now?! What do I say? I don't want to be awkward...

Amelia bit down on her lower lip. "Er, so... Um, well, you see, I don't have very many friends... I've been focusing mainly on my studies but..."

"Me neither," Lilli put in. "Maybe you could be my girlfriend?"

"Yeah, maybe we could be friends. That sounds nice..." She rubbed her arm. "Oh god, did I make this awkward at all?"

"No, no, you didn't," she smiled, just as she began to process exactly what she said. I asked her to be my girlfriend. In German... that just means female friend, and love interest is the same word... but in English... OH MEIN GOTT THEY'RE DIFFERENT WORDS. Maybe she forgot. Maybe she didn't hear that part. Mein Gott Mein Gott Mein Gott Mein Gott-- She felt the pinkish tinge creep up her cheeks.

Amelia hesitated for a moment. "I'm just curious to know, but is English your first language?"

"N-no," she mumbled. "I'm Swiss, from the German part. So that's what I speak."

"Oh, that's cool," she said. "I just noticed the way you used 'girlfriend' is a bit different than the way it's normally used here, but it was an honest mistake. We usually just say 'friend'," she explained, trying not to sound critical.

He notices the smile. Of course he does, since it's rare for him to miss something. Not much is thought of it, but it's nice, to see her smile for the first time. Smiling means someone's happy, and he likes it when people are happy. Who doesn't, right? 'What part of the- Oh! Right.' A hand reaches out to pull the large sheaf of parchment that he was first writing on over to him, and he scans it, before the other hand picks a book up, dropping it open to a set page. 'We're just going over the basics of what we learnt in the past few years, to begin with.' 'I imagine they would, considering there's absolutely everythin'. But, there are things that are way better than those, you know. I'll have to buy a lot for you, huh?'

She peered at the worksheet, her eyes darting from word to word. It seemed relatively straight forward enough but there were some names of plants that she hadn't heard of yet but she shrugged it off, they were probably from later on in the 5th year curriculum. But hey, at least she could try to learn something new as well. "Right... So there's nothing too difficult about the basics. Fluxweed... Puffapods... Asphodel..." Robyn muttered quietly to herself as she read off the parchment before disappearing under her desk to reach for her bag. When she emerged again, she had her own textbook in her hands, setting it down gently without making a sound. "I guess I've never really been interested in things like that... Or bothered enough to go out of my way to buy any."

His head remains tilted, just a little, as he watches her eyes move over the words. It might be staring, but it's more waiting, tensed with anticipation and eagerness, than anything else. Since when did he get excited over schoolwork? Well, not usually, but her agreeing to go someplace with him had really made him way to happy to be pulled down. 'Nothing too difficult?' Oh, maybe that could, but only a little, as is evident by the very slight furrow of his brow, and the soft, huffing sigh he expels. 'I don't remember much about any of that stuff...' Jeez, he really did have a bad memory, for anything but people. 'Oh, you haven't? That's alright. I can fix that.'

She sifted through the textbook at a hurried pace, scanning each page for a brief second before moving on to the next until she found what she wanted. Key words from each paragraph jumped out at her as she absorbed the contents of the book, the results of spending years honing her speed reading over doing what everyone else was doing in her dorm, gossiping about other students and whining about harsh teachers. Robyn paused, ah, he seemed to be staring at her because she could feel his gaze on her. "Nothing too difficult." She repeated firmly, marking a page with a small tab. "But if you don't think so, tell me. What do you find easy to remember?" She fired the question at him before continuing to note down the next section. "But you don't have to, I'm perfectly content as I am now. It's not like sweets or chocolate can really change anything."

Still flustered, Lilli attempted a smile. "Well... do you want to go do something? Maybe we can go down to the kitchens."

"Sure, if you'd like to," Amelia said, sliding a small piece of paper into her book to use as a bookmark later on.

"Let's go!" Excitedly, Lilli took Amelia's hand, rushing to the kitchens. "We need to get there before they start cooking for lunch!"

"Oh-oh okay," Amelia said, mildly surprised at Lilli's eagerness. She allowed Lilli to lead the way to the kitchen.
