Iris couldn't take it. Her mouth that was dribbling foam finally shut. I'm sick. she realized. But she realized too late. At the last stage of her disease, she collapsed, letting the luscious grass blanket her.

"No!" Mosspaw yowled desperately as the loner fell into the grass and didn't get up. He rushed over to her, forgetting for a moment that his mentor may need help fighting off the fox. This stranger couldn't be dead… She may have been crazy and rude and probably sick, but… But she was a cat, and this wasn't right.

(Oh, you're drawing this? That's awesome  Mosspaw is a rather stocky tom with long dark brown fur with white patches, tufted ears, and green eyes.) "Sorry!" Mosspaw mewed, rushing over to help Lemmingfur. He placed blow after blow on the fox's flank, feeling a sort of numb void where emotion should be. |

The fox panted, aiming a halfhearted snap at the larger of the two creatures. One of their claws had scratched close to his eye at one point, and there was a slow trickle of blood impeding his vision. He shook his head, frustrated, and barked at them.

"I'm fine," Mosspaw replied shortly. He lunged forward to nip neatly at the fox's foreleg. The fox yipped in pain and jumped backwards.
Fur bloodied and dirty, the fox continued to fight back. Its legs ached and its vision swam. A boiling pit of anger stormed inside of him, forcing him to continue, but he knew that he wouldn't last for much longer.

Whimpering, the fox tried to dodge the black-and-white cat's claws, but failed. One leg gave way beneath him, and he heaved himself up, tail between his legs. Finally, the fox gave up and limped away across the basin.

Grizzlystar appeared as the fix was running away. He had scented fox while out hunting an decided to investigate. His amber eyes grew worried as he saw his injured clanmate. "Are you ok!" He called as he got to them.
