"How can you be sure? It's completely dark in here..." Vincent paused. "Wait." He fumbled around for a moment with his robes, relief flooding him when he felt the wooden surface of his wand. "Lumos," he murmured, and the tip of his wand glowed. It wasn't much help, but it was better than nothing.

Thea gasped, reaching up to touch her face. It was cold, very cold. Too cold to be part of a living being.
I'm dead. It wasn't an illusion. That meant Venus was in here somewhere. But her sudden comprehension of what was going on did not feel at all comforting- especially since it now felt as though she were being watched.
Her left arm was slowing in its movements. Of course it was. Her green magic wasn't strong enough to keep a semiliving piece of birch energized in whatever twisted afterlife this was.
Taking a ragged breath(though she wasn't sure she needed to anymore), she called out, "Hello?"

Ricardo lit his wand as well, tearing his eyes from the many animal bodies and staring ahead. "That one. I think I came in through that one."

Vincent nodded, but stared for a long time at the gigantic bristly corpse that dwarfed all the others before turning back to Ricardo. "So these are the things that took me? What happened here?"

Vincent frowned slightly, but nodded. "Yeah... Okay..." Still, the sight of so many dead creatures made a lump form in his throat. "Alright then, lead the way."

Ricardo sighed, pushing large stones and oversized roots out of his way as he climbed into the tunnel. The less Vincent knew about what had gone down, the better.

No answer. Oh, this is just brilliant. Thea extinguished her light spell. Though she hated to be sightless in the inky dark, she feared what would happen if she ran out of energy in this place.
More voices sounded- feeble and whisperlike. They rang through the witch's ears, unnerving her.
It's all going to be okay if I can find Venus.

Vincent followed closely, quickening his pace so he could walk beside Ricardo. Hesitantly, he reached out to grab the Gryffindor's hand for comfort as they trekked through the dark, cramped space.

"Wait, what?" Vincent mumbled, confused. Is something wrong? He clenched his hand into a self-conscious fist, looking away. In that moment, Vincent felt like a small child. Afraid, and maybe a bit helpless, but mostly crestfallen.

"Nothing," Ricardo muttered, pushing a bit farther ahead to try to ignore the heat in his face. It was starting to become darker, their wands doing little to penetrate the inky shadows. The dark was starting to make him skittish. Stop messing with my head, you said you didn't like me, so stop messing with me, just stop messing with me...
