Steven Universe: The Roleplay

Carnelian stared after her, jaw and fists clenched and shaking before turning away, dropping their paintbrush. It fell to the floor with a rather loud clatter. "I don't want to do this anymore. I don't care anymore." In moments, the window had been opened and Carnelian had jumped out, landing easily on their feet and storming off across the beach.

Morganite was left standing in the middle of the room, awkwardly hugging her basket of paints. "Guys? We... We can work this out, can't we?" She started, before giving into the fact that both gems were already far out of hearing range. She sighed heavily, crossing to the wall and sitting down in front of it. The pink gem uncapped a bottle of paint in the same shade, and traced a flower slowly on the wall with a detailing brush. Her eyes followed the curves of the paint. "This isn't the first time this has happened. We'd better give them some time to cool down. I don't know about Carnelian, but Coral likes her solitude."

Morganite wrung the towel she was using out into a bucket of water. Down on her knees in the attic, she scrubbed at the nearly dried splotches of orange paint littering the floor. How long has it been? They've been gone for nearly an hour. She dropped the rag into the bucket, sighing and pulling her knees to her chin. What if we get a call? Maybe I should try to find them...

Carnelian had sat themselves at the water's edge, allowing it to lap at their toes. The cliff that was a little ways behind them had been scored with deep marks, matching the blade of their battleaxe that had been carelessly strewn nearby.

Coral still sat perched on her rock. She'd stopped crying and instead took to counting limpets listlessly. She was ashamed of her behavior, just like every other time this had happened. Coral wanted so badly not to be bothered by every little critique or argumentative response, but it was no use. Every time, she took the comment to heart, and it ruined her.

Carnelian turned around after a moment, looking as if they had just exhausted themselves crying. "...Tanzanite. Um... hey."

Carnelian shrugged, turning to stare back at the rolling waves. "I... I don't even know. The more I think about it, the more I know that I overreacted... but I'm not sure how to say that I'm sorry."

Morganite took her place beside Coral, swinging her feet over the edge of the rock. "It's no biggie. It's not like we're exactly used to this, right?" She closed her eyes, focusing on the soft breeze rustling her hair. "It'll just take some adjusting, but maybe this'll turn out to be good in the long run."

Tanzanite came closer and sat down next to Carnelian, still slightly wary. "I'm sure Coral will forgive you. It was just a misunderstanding," she said, her voice still quiet. "Even though we don't know these gems very well, being sincere about it should be enough, with whatever you say or do."
