Morganite followed suit, gazing down over the city for any familiar sights. "It's so weird... Nobody seems bothered." She frowned, touching down on top of the gazebo in the center of the park. "Maybe that's it. Nobody's seen anything." She shivered. "Do you think we're dealing with another one of those shadow creatures? Or it could be underground, or invisible, or.... Whatever it is, we've got a lot of searching to do."

"I don't think there are many entrances to the sewer systems. And whatever it is probably isn't smart enough to lift the manhole covers. But there is a chance it could be invisible somehow," Coral commented, nervousness edging her voice as she scanned the grass, trees, and pathways. "I just hope it's not too tiny..."

Carnelian lounged by the window, yawning. Maybe I should go and talk to that blue gem... Tanzanite, was it? Might as well get to know her a little better. They shifted their hips to begin to get on their feet, when a quiet hiss interrupted the silence.

Tanzanite froze, her eyes widening. "Okay," she muttered, trying not to flinch as she felt something drip down from the ceiling onto her head. Was it saliva? Maybe not. Anything was possible.

Meanwhile, at the park, Morganite was crawling through a glade, patting the ground for anything invisible, simultaneously searching for some kind of visible gem in the air above her. "Hey Coral, found anything yet?" She called to her comerade.

With a ferocious growl, Carnelian threw the battleaxe. It landed inches above Tanzanite's head, but the hissing stopped and bright green oozed from the split body.

Morganite sighed. "I have no idea. When we get back, we'll have to check the temple for faults ." She sat down on the grass, surveying the generally serene crowd. "Maybe we did overlook something. I mean, I thought it would be important to make sure the citizens were safe first, but we probably should have checked base more thoroughly."

As the gems landed on the deck of the base, Morganite wrinkled her nose, cringing. "Ugh, what is that smell? Maybe the creature really was in the base all this time." Processing the thought, her disgust quickly turned to worry. "Oh, I hope Tanzanite and Carnelian are okay! And what if the temple is broken and there are more and the house is infested with monsters and... Oh gosh. This could be a problem."
