Riley nodded and staggered off to the closed off area, managing to change slowly. When he finally came back out, he fell onto one of the beds and closed his eyes.

The matron moved Jane wordlessly over to where Riley was laying. She sat him up, took the blankets from Jane, and wrapped them around the two together.

Normally, Riley would have protested, but he felt too sick to care. Besides, whatever the matron was doing was probably for the best.

Jane was still shivering and slightly nauseous, but having the warmth of the blankets and Riley provided some comfort.

"You'll be fine," the matron answered calmly. "I don't know what you two did for this to happen, but it was dangerous."
Jane was starting to grow increasingly tired. At times, she felt like she'd start losing consciousness for a moment before jerking awake. Mostly, she just wanted to sleep...

Jane finally let herself succumb to sleep. Her head lolled to the side, resting on Riley's shoulder.

Riley vaguely felt her head on his shoulder, but was unsure whether or not he was imagining it. Eventually, his vision blurred completely and he gave up, letting himself relax and eventually fall asleep completely.

A few hours later, she blinked awake groggily. Upon realizing that her head was on Riley's shoulder, she attempted to sit up straight. The matron came by once she realized at least Jane was awake, and handed her a mug of warm milk.
