She nodded, unrolling the map over the table and quickly locating their current position. "We're here, and Ba Sing Se is over here. The quickest way is to follow the river until you reach the base of this mountain. Then you should head through the valley and carry on for half a day. It's fairly massive, you can't miss it."

He took out his own outdated map, comparing the two with the silent relief that at least the general surroundings were still the same. It would make his journey to Ba Sing Se a lot easier. "Got it." Jian nodded after several moments, having committed the directions to memory. "Which way is the river from this cottage?"
