"Could you serve it? The bowls are on the side." She kept her expression guarded as she lifted a small frame from the contents of the chest. It was simple and bronze, and inside a sepia-toned portrait of a family was nestled. A tall, dark skinned man sat in the centre, a cane in his hand. By his right side stood a woman, her skin a few shades lighter but her hair the same black as her husband's. She had one hand on his shoulder, and the other was rested lightly upon the head of a young boy. He was around seven or eight, and his ashen eyes stared out of the glass happily. A toy sword was tucked into his belt at the hip, and the twin blade was clutched in his hand. The fourth and final member of the family was a toddler girl of about three, seated on her father's lap. Her dark, untameable hair was tugged into two frizzy buns on the top of her head. She was staring peaceably up at her father, one hand clutched around the fabric of his blazer. Kari sighed, placing the portrait back into the chest face-down. She closed her eyes briefly before withdrawing a scroll. "I've got the map."

Jampo looked through the cabinets until he found the bowls. He took three and spooned a good helping of rice into each of them. He headed over to the table and handed one to Kira.

Her brow furrowed and she shut the lid of the chest forcibly, causing the entire table to shudder. She turned to the firebender, green eyes fixing on his. "Feel free to eat."

"Ah... Thank you." He humbly accepted a bowl and a seat at the table. "If you don't mind, I also have a question for the two of you." Jian pulled out the sketch that he had stuffed into his pocket, laying it out on the table. "I'm looking for this guy, he's a Fire Nation general who disappeared a couple of years ago. Have either of you seen him?"
