 Figured I should make a gallery, so....
Well, this is my first real art made using Photoshop Elements. I based it off of a sketch in my notebook.
Also, I regret the fact that this isn't very detailed. I apologize.

 A quick painting of Tokitae (aka Lolita). Lolita is the only whale at the Miami Seaquarium and the sole survivor of the Southern Resident captures in 1970. She and seven other young whales were taken from their homes at Penn Cove in Puget Sound. The whales were shipped to marine parks around the world. Lolita joined Hugo, another Southern Resident, at the Seaquarium. They lived together in a 60x80 foot tank that was only 20 feet deep. Hugo died in 1980 after repeatedly smashing his head into the walls of the tank, an act described as suicide. Lolita now lives with two pacific white-sided dolphins. There has been a large movement to release Lolita back into the wild. Some want her to at least be retired to a seapen. However, there is now talk of possibly shipping Lolita all the way to Marineland France. |
