After realizing the others already had the boy, Cesar flew back in through the window and changed back to his human form in midair, landing on his feet. "Here to join us?" He hesitated, thinking for a moment. "Claudia, put him down."

Claudia let him go, quickly morphing into a thinner and more agile shape, with almond eyes and straight black hair. "Breaking into the base isn't exactly the best way to make an impression."

Nova folded her arms, her eyes searching Caspar. He's tiny. How old is he? And who is this "man"?

"No," Caspar shrugged. "But he gave me this. To give to a... Nova." He took a crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket.
Immediately, Nova snatched up and opened it. Her eyes scanned the page, and she almost look afraid for a moment, but intermediately returned back to her usual, guarded expression.
"So, don't you guys want to know what I do?" Caspar said, scanning each of their faces.

"We can scan the note for exact origins and more info later, but we have an actual, living twelve-year-old in the base. I think we should hear what he has to tell us," Beth interjected. She was intensely curious as to the contents of the note, but anything that made Nova appear frightened was probably serious. If the kid hadn't yet read it, they couldn't discuss it in front of him.
