"No wonder! Don't you remember? I'm almost positive we were picking up fairly high levels of radiation coming from that planet. These plants' genetics must've adapted to the high radiation. It may've been what caused the slight mutations in the proteins."

"Well, we don't know for sure that's why the roots had the floating side-effect, but I suppose it'd be safer not to eat these roots. But who knows? Maybe the other plants are different. In the meantime, we'd better monitor that hen. We wouldn't want her getting some kind of...radiation poisoning, if that's even possible."
