Twin spruces mark the space where the fresh-kill pile lies. They are the only somewhat large trees for miles around and they sit at the very edge of camp

Grizzlystar led the patrol back to camp an deposited the caribou leg onto the pile. They had a great hunt and got lucky with the dead caribou.

Sealpaw caught the strip with his paws, immediately bending over it to examine the meat. "Nice, healthy flesh... hasn't been dead long... seems young..." What a lucky find... unless it is an omen of darkness. A young caribou with nothing obviously wrong dropping dead. Then he shook his head. Omen of darkness? In caribou meat? "This is great, Grizzlystar!"

Grizzlystar chuckled. "Yes it is! My favorite prey. " he confirmed. Then took a strip for himself. He settle down and used his black talons to hold on to the half frozen meat as he ate it. "How is training?" He asked

Oh! Grizzlystar found a healthy young caribou with a patrol... perhaps it is an omen about bears! "We'll have to keep an eye out," Sealpaw mewed.
