Room of Requirement

He nodded, pressing his lips together and wondering if his skin was as flushed as it felt. "Uh, yeah, right. Well, we could go around the outside and then cut through the middle. It's massive, so there's not much point in trying to cover it all or we won't get anything done."

Leo nodded again, a little overwhelmed by the attention. He noted that every pair of eyes were on him, a realisation that did not aid the deepening shade of his skin. "Uh, sure. The first one's just this way." And he walked forwards for a few moments, coming to stop at the base of a large structure, painted in vibrant red, blue, yellow and green. The roller coaster itself stretched up and over them, supported by nothing and yet forming a rail across the entire room. "This is supposed to emulate the feeling of flying," he said tentatively, tapping his wand against the side. The seats in the docking station whirred into life and tilted to a ninety degree angle, so that the hypothetical rider would be facing down. Seconds later, it shot directly upwards into the air. Leo cast a shy glance at Bianca - the ride had been inspired by Quidditch, so he had hoped that she would like it during its creation.

Leo laughed nervously. "It should be perfectly safe... I mean, there's a cushioning charm over the whole room just in case, but that's just a precaution."

"The room?" Leo dared to say, pursing his lips as Tessa let out a snort of laughter beside him. "Uh, I don't know. Very big."

"It seats four at a time," Leo shrugged. "Go ahead - knock yourself out."

Tessa shook her head slightly, a smile forming on her face at Leo's unfortunate wording. "Have you ever been on a broomstick?" she asked Nic, doubting very much that he had.

She raised her eyebrows, starting to guide him over to the seats. "Oh? And how did that go?" Tessa cast a wary eye over the contraption that would hold them into place; it reminded her a little of the scanning machine at the hospital, with its funny little clasps and straps everywhere.

"Well, hopefully this should be a more pleasant experience for you," Leo muttered, tapping his wand against a large control box at the side of the seats. There was a loud click and they lifted a little from the ground, evidently ready to take off.

Tessa reached the seats, running her finger over the leather of one before lowering herself gingerly into it. The straps secured themselves around her.

"I don't know," she admitted quietly, shuffling in her seat. "I'm sure it'll be fine; the journey up the grand staircase is probably more tiring, and I did take a portkey the other day, which can't be too different. Besides, my recovery's much further ahead than it should be." She pushed a smile onto her face, finding his hand again and threading her fingers through his. "You look excited."

Leo glanced around at the group. "There's room for two more. Anyone else fancy a go?" He directed the question mainly at Bianca, whom he knew loved flying. She hadn't spoken.

Tessa felt her cheeks colour slightly. "Me too. I mean, I'm glad I'm back. And I'm glad that all the other stuff is behind us."
