The novices, apprentices of the Syndicate, sleep here. Fallen bricks and pillars formed a cave of sorts, cozy and protected from storms in winter and very hot and humid during the greenleaf months.

Dove peered in through the opening of the den, her ears twitching nervously. Alright, alright. I've got this. Just walk in there and find a nest. That's all there is to it, right? She stepped in to the shelter of ruins, heading for the back. Being a novice isn't as bad as they say I bet. My mentor will be nice I bet. I hope.

Tenma padded into the den, glancing around quietly with her pale yellow eyes. There was a challenge to her glare as she looked around her new den.

Dove had chosen a nest in the back of the den, when she heard a rustle. Glancing up, she spotted the other novice, and shivered. She looked... serious. Dove hastily directed her gaze back down.

"Well, uh, it's actually my first day," she stuttered. "The older novices say it's hard though. We train and learn how to hunt and stuff. I think it sounds kind of fun, but I guess it all depends on the mentor. I haven't gotten mine yet, so I sure hope they're nice. Who's yours?"

"Tenma." The she-cat padded out of the den. A few minutes later, she returned, a clump of moss in her jaws. She began to assemble a nest in an empty spot, away from the other cats. Once she was done, she looked up at Dove again. "Tell me more about being a novice."
