He was always like this. Kind of. That is...he used to not be like this." Another pause. "Believe me when I say that when I first met him, he truly was a good person."

Victoria nods slowly. "Alright. Thank you...for coming to look for me. I— I never meant to cause you this much trouble." She reaches up to wipe her eyes with one hand. She tries to play it off like she's just tired and not fighting back tears.

"Oh. I, uh... Okay," she mumbles, closing her eyes again. She listens to Judas for a bit. The slight shuffling of his feet. His steady breathing in the quiet of the shop... Victoria can feel his gaze on her, but somehow, she doesn't mind. "Hey, and be careful, please. Don't do anything stupid."

John's stumbling down the street like a drunkard, nursing the bump on his head. How dare she? It wasn't like he was planning on hurting her. And that boy from the colonies... Feh. Trying to be a knight in shining armor.

John stops at the corner of the block. He gets the silly feeling that someone's following him, but it's probably just paranoia. He has to find Victoria. He can feel her in his arms already. He can see her in his bed. She'd learn to like being with him. Because if he can't have her, no one can.

It's a sort of "I saw her first" argument on John's part, but he can't exactly think of anything better to say. "And then you had to waltz in and steal her from me. If anything, you're the kidnapper."

The news seems to come as a shock to John, but he doesn't let it phase him. "And how could you possibly know that? You've been around her for maybe a week! How can you know what she feels?" John's voice is more uncertain now, and he's growing uncomfortable with this alchemist's dirty, greasy hand on his newly-clean and expensive shirt.
