You're gone so often, for such large breaks in the year. Not to mention the fact that you don't exactly get a steady stream of owls from anyone other than Giovanni and Nicolas. How can you guarantee that they're even interested in you anymore?

Jane has O.W.L.s, but lately she's been all googly-eyed for some boy. Ricardo is too busy with his... weird gay love triangle business. Leo's chasing Bianca, which is a dark and aimless road in itself. Cora... who knows with Cora, she's probably found and broken up with six kids between your last chemo treatment and now. Xander is falling all over himself for Ricardo and so is Vincent. So where does that leave you on their minds?

She bit her lip, not knowing what she could say to that. Lizzie had accused her of being selfish before, and it was one of the things she despised the most about herself. Of course, the deep set denial had meant that she had refused to admit it until recently. The events of the past few weeks had drained her, both physically and mentally, and she frankly couldn't be bothered lying to herself anymore.
"But Nic and Bianca and Giovanni," she murmured. "They do care. I know they do. Giovanni went back in time with me to save you and Bianca, for Merlin's sake. And Bianca shaved my head and helped me pick out wigs. And Nic was there all the way through chemo..."

Maybe it isn't so good that you deeply examine your relationship with the girl that used to put gum in my hair and is currently leading on a hopelessly-in-love boy for who-knows-what reason.

Bianca is a very complicated person. Don't you remember what she loved to do when we were all kids? Mind games. There's a reason she's in Slytherin, Tessa. Think about it. She grew up toying with all of us. And now she's got somebody new at her beck and call, doing whatever she wants, and she certainly hasn't felt like telling him the truth about how she feels yet. Bianca likes to get what she wants. And she stops at nothing and considers no morals until she gets there. So Slytherin it's ridiculous.

Tessa sniffed, sliding her legs back under the covers. They felt horribly prickly and it occurred to her that she hadn't shaved them in weeks. And whilst the chemotherapy had claimed the hair on her scalp, and even a few of her eyebrow hairs and eyelashes, the hair on her legs had remained untouched. It all seemed most unfair to her.
"Thank you, Lizzie," she mumbled. "I'll write to Nic and Giovanni in the morning."
