Tessa recalled their brief argument from earlier, chewing on her lip. It had been silly, really, and she wished she had approached the subject with more sensitivity. Still, she had been tired and groggy from the drugs. It was bound to come out eventually.

I think there's talk of her being invited to a professional team. Though for that she'll need to improve her marks. But Jane is getting top marks. She's growing to be a very intelligent young lady."

"Unless she wants to join, of course. Can't say that'd be entirely unwelcome - our women's team isn't up for much nowadays."

Lyra cast a subtle smirk at her husband before speaking. She couldn't out him in front of his relatives; it was unfair. "He's doing absolutely fine," she said warmly. "Not that he or Leo ever visit us unless we physically drag them to the shop. And you know what it's like at school - it's not cool to have a teacher for a mum."

Tessa looked at her feet, very glad that the adults knew nothing about the amount of smuggled alcohol they had managed to consume over the past two years. She felt herself missing it immensely, for a number of reasons. That's the first thing on my agenda when I get back, she decided firmly. Sobriety's no fun.
Will snorted just thinking about it. "I certainly hope they aren't doing half the things we did. The law was never black and white with us, let's face it."

"The law was never with us in the first place," June snorted. "It was absolute fun to sit in magical law lessons while I was in the Auror academy and seeing just how many we broke. Do you remember that one time that I dared Will to mess with the Divination professor's readings, and he actually did it, and the school had to be evacuated because she predicted a dementor attack? Turns out, that's very illegal."
