She silently cursed herself. Her tongue had become too loose-- that could be taken as aiding an exile. Which could end in her and her mother's exiles as well. Or, as was the case with her grandmother, the burning down of their home.

The Chief did not speak again, deep in thought, as Ismael descended in the village centre. He slid out of his saddle and immediately looked around for Kaia, hoping to start the meeting as soon as possible.

Quickly, Evalda hurried towards her home. She had to earn her mother in case Rikard decided to burn the house with them in it.

The girl ran up to Rikard as soon as he landed, having spotted Ismael from a fair distance away. "What happened out there? You returned fairly quickly so I assume that you didn't run into anymore trouble."

"No, but we've confirmed that the Outsiders mean us harm. I need you to round up the Tribe Elders for a council meeting. We need to discuss our plan of action." Rikard began to remove the saddle from his dragon, glancing around for Astra. He hadn't picked the Flutterfire up from the flower field, so hopefully she had the sense to return by herself.

Evalda turned to her mother. "They found out about the journal. We need to begin stowing our valuables. Sew things into our clothes, if you must."

"Harm?" She echoed, eyes widening. "But they've never- Ah, never mind that now. Meeting, got it." She scurried off out of sight and the loud, consistent thumping that sounded from her direction became an indication that she dragged Astor off with her to find the Tribe Elder.

Rikard hurried to the hall to prepare, aware of the fact that his shirt was stained with mud and blood, and he probably didn't smell too pleasant either.

Name: Dualscar (formerly known as Erikur the Shrewd) Age: 47 Rank: Outsider Appearance: tall and burly, with thick red-brown hair and a rough beard. His skin is sun-browned and rough, with two long white scars across his face. One goes over his left eye, which is blind. Personality: Astute, authoritative, and ambitious. He is rather arrogant and thirsty for power, always thinking. That his way is the only way to lead. However, he is also extremely intelligent in terms of strategy and analysis, and is not shy about pointing this out. Highly independent and introverted. Dragon(s): A Speed Stinger named Aslaug. She is olive green in color, with orange eyes and wings. Other: exiled from Berk after a failed attempt to defeat Sigurd in single combat. Before then, he was a master archer of Berk and the father of Evalda.

Evalda stopped, taking a moment to stare in a mirror as her mother cleaned the cut. The pattern of the scar was jarringly similar to one of the two that had been present on her father's face.

It had only taken the utterance of the term 'outsider' to gain the collective attention of the Tribe Elders, allowing Kaia to effectively explain that the Chief had called a meeting and it was of the utmost importance that they met with him as soon as possible. As she wandered back to the hall, she half wondered whether Rikard had decided to clean up a bit before quickly dismissing the idea.

Rikard stood at the head of the large table, a map of the Island laid out before him. He had drawn a charcoal ring around the spot where they had found the campfire, and marked out a few possible places where the Outsiders could be staying.

Evalda gritted her teeth as her mother strung bandages around her face. "We have to move. As soon as that council is done, they'll be ready to exile us. Or kill us. Both have happened for breaking the laws of an exile."

Rikard frowned, suddenly realising that he was going to need to address the issue of the arrows sooner or later. Evalda had said something about the journal... Perhaps it would be a good idea to look at it in closer detail. After all, he had never looked through them.

Kaia appeared at the entrance, rapping the great doors a few times to alert Rikard to her presence before calling out. "They're here."

He nodded, waiting until everyone was seated before filling them all in of the situation. "There is also the issue of Erikur, the exile who challenged my father. His daughter, Evalda, has identified the arrows shot at her dragon as his handiwork."

Kaia masked her surprise well as the others took in the information. If the issue was left unresolved for too long, it could easily turn nasty for Evalda and her mother purely because of familial connections. She glanced up to Rikard, awaiting his solution.

"Evalda also mentioned journals, which I hope may reveal his intent in some form or other. For now, Valinor, I wish you to take group of no more than three others and scout the area. Try and find out as much as you can without being seen." He addressed a rather small bearded man, who nodded and set about rounding up a team. Whilst the others were occupied, Rikard turned to his sister. "I'm going to retrieve those journals."

Evalda closed her eyes, trying to imagine what Rikard would do. He seemed furious. Of course he would be, they broke the law. But what would he do? He could easily allow them to stay in Berk, but have their home burned to a crisp. Or he could have them killed without a second glance. Or they could become exiles themselves. There were too many options. Too many possibilities. She felt tears sting at her eyes as she stuffed possessions into a leather bag.

The young Chief rolled up the map and placed it back in the bookshelf before formally ending the meeting and beginning the walk to Evalda's house. As he passed by the village centre, he wiped at his face with his sleeve, very conscious of the fact that his skin was covered with a layer of sweat and grime from the hunt that morning.
