Name: Rikard the Noble Age: 19 Rank: Chief Appearance: Rikard is relatively tall and muscular as a result of his vigorous training, although he gets self conscious about his weight sometimes. His hair is sandy blond and his eyes are bright blue, inherited from his mother. His cheekbones are prominent, framing his cheeks and giving way to a straight, well structured nose. Whilst he could be considered attractive, a number of scars mar his features, in particular one reaching from his lower lip to his jaw obtained during a skirmish with a particularly hostile sea dragon. Personality: As his name suggests, Rikard has always been raised to be noble and selfless. However, he is often arrogant due to his position and doesn't easily see the point of view of others. He isn't good at making friends, and therefore most of the residents just follow him out of respect for his late father, the previous Chieftain. Rikard tries as best as he can to be a good chief to his people, although given his disposition it is more of a challenge than expected. Dragon(s): Rikard owns two dragons - a Windwalker and a Flutterfire. His Windwalker is named Ismael and is midnight blue in colour. They met when the chief was only twelve and about to start his training. Their first relationship was a strenuous one, but after a lot of persuasion, Rikard was able to make Ismael his riding dragon. The second dragon he owns is a Flutterfire called Astra. She is a scarlet coloured nanodragon, somewhat resembling a moth. Rikard was easily able to attract her with nectar, and she can usually be seen flitting around his shoulders. Other: Rikard became chief recently after the death of his father, Sigurd the Mighty. His mother was exiled for reasons unknown, and despite his initial curiosity, the young chief has overcome the temptation to search for her.

Personality: Brenna is optimistic and friendly, however impulsive and speaks before she thinks. Personality subject to change.Dragon(s): Owns a white and grey Polar-Serpent by the name of Whitewind. He was given to her as a young dragon by her father when she was eight years old, after he came back from a trip to one of the polar regions. She has almost finished completely training him to be her riding dragon, and they have formed a strong bond over the years. Other: N/A for now.

Name: Evalda Age: 16 Rank: Viking-in-Training Appearance: Evalda is notably tall for her age, with a rather bulky, large frame. While she trains to make sure that her large shape is supported by muscle, she often feels rather insecure about her body type. Her hair is thick and reddish-brown, which she keeps in braids. She has a strong jaw, with freckled cheeks and dark eyes, as well as an almost crooked nose. She has a few scars on her arms (from falling through a bramble bush as a new trainee, although she often says that they were from training her dragon), and recently acquired one that makes its way from above her left eyebrow to the base of her right cheek. Personality: Tough, dependable, and down-to-earth. She is often prone to making jokes; however, due to crippling insecurity and extremely envious nature, they can often be at the expense of others. While a dependable and loyal friend, Evalda is often harsh in judging others and scornful of them at first glance. With all of this, she often gives off the appearance of being arrogant, but in reality she is insecure about herself, her personality, her body, and her abilities to become a Viking. Still, her leadership skills are strong-- though she can occasionally get carried away with the position of leader, even in a game. Dragon(s): One dragon that she was paired with, a Speed Stinger named Brynhilde. She is dark green, with fiery red eyes and orange stripes. She was the hatched daughter of Evalda's father's dragon. Having grown within the same home, it did not take much persuasion for Brynhilde to allow Evalda to ride with her and train her. Despite showing a protective, almost parental nature with some aspects of their intertwined fates, the dragon is outright petulant with others, particularly battle training. Other: While she wishes to become a Viking warrior and receive her title (Evalda the ___), her main aspiration is to take over as Cheif and defeat Rikard in single combat. Rikard the Noble and Sigurd the Mighty, though she plans to usurp their dynasty, are her heroes. She lives with only her mother, as her father left them both to travel the world when Evalda was five.

Name: Cecilie (I actually played a character named Cecilie once!) Age: 15 Rank: Viking-in-Training Personality: Cecilie prefers the simpler things in life, and is generally polite and helpful. She aspires to be a healer, but she doesn't want to take the chance of letting her family and peers down upon dropping out of Viking training. Appearance: Brown hair with a reddish tint and light freckles. Brown eyes. She looks younger than she actually is, compared to her peers, which doesn't always work in her favor. Dragon(s): A dark green Swiftglider named Blitz, who Cecilie chose early on in her training. Very excitable and energetic, and an ironic pairing with his companion, as she isn't usually seen in the action of battle that her dragon is associated with. Nonetheless, the two are Best Friends. Other: Cecilie is a notoriously bad dragon trainer, as she can barely keep even her own dragon under control. She can hold her own in battle, but is far from the best in class. Cecilie seeks a different kind of action than the battlefield, aspiring to become a healer, which she's actually pretty good at and thuroughly enjoys. She stays in training to be a Viking though, hesitant to drop out of the training she's been through almost her whole life.

Rikard sat on the steps by the entrance to the Great Hall, dragging a scrap of cloth over the blade of his sword. Berk was midway through one of its short summers, and he was feeling the effect of the unusual heat more than ever. The young chief's Flutterfire rested on his knee, her delicate wings stretched out to lose as much heat as she could whilst she slept. He lay down his sword and absent mindedly stroked her head with his thumb, looking out across the village with a furrowed brow. It was peaceful. Almost too peaceful.
"Human, get your hand off me," Astra grumbled in Dragonese, opening one ruby-red eye and staring up at him.
Rikard chuckled, surprised at how easily he could translate the strange language in his head. After Hiccup's death over two centuries ago, his books on the speaking of the lost language had been published. Rikard's grandmother had been the one to implement them into village life, ensuring that all Vikings-in-Training picked up the gist of it before they graduated.
"Apologies, Astra. I know you're trying to sleep." he responded idly, going back to polishing his blade. Hopefully something big would happen soon. Peace and a whole island of Vikings did not bode well, after all.

Brenna sat some distance away with her dragon, a book in her hand. She looked frustrated. As Whitewind snorted, the pages of the book fluttered to another page. "Oh, great. Thanks, Whitewind. You know how much difficulty I have learning your stupid dragon language, and now I've lost my place." In response, the Polar-Serpent blew a small ring of smoke in her face.

The Chief stood, sliding his sword into the scabbard at his waist. Astra threw out a string of angry words in Dragonese as she was forced to take flight from his knee, fluttering up to sit on top of his head instead. Rikard chuckled.
"Sorry, Astra, but it's time for the hunt. Vikings can't feed themselves on vegetables alone. Besides, you can stop off in the flower fields if you like, and I'll collect you later."
The Flutterfire blew out a cheerful puff of smoke. She had never had aptitude for hunting, being about the size of a large butterfly, so she would often sit and wait for the hunts to finish by drinking nectar in the flower field. Her hyperactivity when she was finished created a few problems back in the village, but as Chief, Rikard was more than equipped to deal with them.

Name: Kaia (title TBD) Age: 17 Rank: House of the Chief Appearance: Kaia has thick blonde hair that she spends a little too much time braiding every so often and dark brown eyes. She's somewhat muscular but has a less bulky frame due to a preference of agility over brute force. Personality: Fast paced and overly curious. She hates sitting around and doing nothing, instead craving adventure and the outdoors which is fortunate due to the nature of her lifestyle. Her tendency to act spontaneously without thinking too hard often leads her into rather sticky situations which she, or others, have to get her out of. Dragon(s): She owns a Rocket Ripper named Astor. They share a love of insanely high speeds and are both reckless to the point of putting themselves both at danger but their deep trust in each other and almost identical thrill seeker personalities often prevents serious harm or injury. Kaia does't own any other dragons but she has found that most are less aggressive towards her than others. Other: Sister to the Chief. She's capable in the use of most weapons and gets on well with others as she is surprisingly empathetic.

Rikard made his way to the centre of the village, where his Windwalker was curled up, fast asleep. He scratched the great beast on the sensitive scales of his neck to awaken him before glancing around and raising his voice.
"Who's ready for a hunt?"

Kaia glanced up at the sound of Rikard's voice as Astor noticeably brightened. The dragon had grown restless after spending the start of the day doing positively nothing at all and was itching for the opportunity to stretch his wings. "We're ready as we'll ever be, Chief."

"Good. See if you can round up the heads of the families. I've been told there's a wild flock of sheep just appeared on the other side of Berk."

"Aye, chief!" She directed a playful salute in his direction before moving to skip off with Astor in tow. "Ah, hold on." Kaia paused. "Are we leaving the trainees out on this one or not?"

Rikard paused. "They've been training for a reason. We may as well bring them with us and see how they do. If we get held up though, see to it that they're sent straight back." Having never been a trainee with the other Vikings, and learning instead under the guidance of his father, the Chief had little to no sympathy for the initiates.

"Understood, they all have over a year left of their training but they should have picked up sufficient knowledge to be of use." Kaia nodded before leaving in search of both trainees and the head of families alike. She herself had received 'the best of both worlds' so to speak in terms of her own training as her father was often busy with her brother, leaving her to learn with the rest of her peers.

Evalda was sitting by the training arena, carefully pulling out thorns from under Brynhilde's scales. The dragon twitched in discomfort, her scarlet eyes darting about. "You shouldn't have catapulted yourself through a bramble patch," the trainee muttered in broken, slightly awkward Dragonese. "What in blazes ever made you think that it was a good idea?!"

Astor let out a disgruntled huff as he and his rider traipsed around almost the entire village, Kaia firmly putting down any thoughts of flying to their numerous destinations. His immense speed was far too much to control in such a cramped environment and it was bound to lead to several broken structures and an irritated village chief. That would have put them in a less than desirable situation. "Oh, Evalda!" Kaia called out to the younger girl with a cheerful wave as they neared the training area. "Rikard wants to test you trainees during the hunting trip. Are you and Brynhilde up for it?"

Evalda looked up. "Sure! Just let me finish up here... one more thorn, and..." There was a loud screech of protest from Brynhilde as she pulled it out. "There. We're fine to go."

Rikard hauled the saddle onto his Windwalker with ease, muttering an apology as Ismael groaned in protest. He worked quickly to tie the buckled, strapping in a waterskin by the seat and fastening the map into place by the dragon's neck.

"Great, Rikard's waiting for everyone to assemble at the village centre. Maybe you could take this opportunity to impress him." She grinned as Astor let out a strangled noise of sympathy for the other dragon, wincing as the thorn was pulled out. "He sometimes seems sort of tense when carrying out the Chief's duties, maybe he can relax a little when he sees how capable the trainees are."

"Yeah, impress him," Evalda murmured, smiling at the thought. Maybe I can at least get to Right Hand Man before I overthrow him. "I'm sure we'll all put on a good hunt."
