Vincent grabbed his trunk and hurried to get off the carriage and away from the confined space he'd had to share with the two other people. Then he remembered he would have to go to the feast and started shaking visibly. Every year, it was a nightmare. Usually, he just tried to let his mind go numb, but there were always one or two people that would try to get him to talk.

Vincent bit his lip as he watched Ricardo walk away. That was literally the closest he'd been to making a real friend. And he blew it, like always. Not really thinking, he called out, "Hey, wait!"
