Riley still looked concerned, but he stared at the ground instead and didn't push it. As they walked, he could feel his hand brushing hers every so often, and after working up the courage, took her hand in his, looking away. He was sure he was blushing- how ridiculous, he scolded himself.

Jane felt her face warm, despite the cold water still dripping from it. Stealing a glance at Riley, she squeezed his hand. "When we get back, I'll make us some hot cocoa," she promised.

Riley smiled and waved back, before heading the other way towards the Gryffindor common rooms. Ten minutes later, he was waiting outside the library, leaning against a wall and checking his watch.

"Of course." She brought him right to the small alcove, sitting down on one of the cushions she'd left there. The sky had become overcast in the time it'd taken them to change and tiny raindrops were now peppering the glass, pattering softly against the window.

Jane nodded. "The rain's always nice when you're inside." The weak light filtering through the clouds cast a soft, pale glow over them. Jane couldn't help but notice it was perfect lighting for reading. She scooted a bit closer to Riley so that their shoulders were touching, and took a sip of her hot chocolate.
