Jane's mind went slightly numb and for a moment, there seemed to be nothing else in the world but Riley. She reached up, pulling his hand from her cheek. Jane's gaze lingered a bit longer before she looked away. The butterflies in her stomach remained, however. But now they felt real.

Jane hesitated. "I—I felt like... Like I could've been in love." She mumbled the last part quietly, hoping he wouldn't be able to make out what she'd said. "But...not really. It felt more controlling. Like I didn't have much of a choice in what I did or how I felt."
