Leo had been at Choir, and hadn't expected to meet them on his way down to the common room. In fact, he hadn't expected to see his brother at all until Tessa's return party. Tired, all he did was raise his eyebrows as he spotted them. A few sarcastic remarks popped into his head, each slightly more brittle than the next. "Oh," he said at last, feigning surprise. "I think I recognise you from somewhere. Weren't you at that party we had a while back?"

Vincent nodded, standing and giving the brothers a small wave before heading off down the hallway. He glanced back over his shoulder at Ricardo once more before turning the corner.

Ricardo stiffened at Leo's words, feeling his nails dig into his palms. "You think the rest of our friends are actually around to talk to anymore? Nicolas is always either with Tessa or by himself waiting for her. Tessa is in the hospital most of the time. Giovanni is constantly looking out for everyone else and too busy to talk to me anymore, especially now that Liz died. By the way, Elizabeth is too dead to talk to anyone. Bianca's constantly threatening me every conversation we have at this point. Cora's just not really around anymore. Jane is always with Riley now. You wanted space, and now you don't. Not to mention the fact that any free time you have, you're running around at Bianca's beck and call! You think I have anyone to talk to but Vincent?!"

Ricardo felt heat rise to his face. "Oh, don't you start acting like you're not being a complete hypocrite right now. Or do you forget that you don't talk to the others either? Even when you plan all these little parties, all you do is follow Bianca around. That is literally all you have been doing. For months now. Don't you start acting all high-and-mighty. Because if I'm not going to get any pieces picked up for me, you sure as hell aren't either."

Leo stopped in his tracks, staring down at the floor ahead of him. Part of him wanted to shrug the hand off his shoulder and continue, but the other part just felt guilt. He knew that he was being unfair, and he knew that most of his anger was down to his own insecurities; Ricado had always been more popular and more admired for his looks, whilst Leo was far too shy to even talk to many people. So instead, he just sighed. "Yeah," he muttered, still not turning. "Sorry's all well and good, but it's not like anything's going to be done about it, is it?"

Yes! Leo's internal voice piped up. Things will go back to normal. That's all you want. And he very nearly opened his mouth to voice the opinion, but the words were swallowed as his moral compass reared its ugly head. So he huffed. "Huh. So I guess you two are official now."
